Exactly one week after the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others, we took the time to reflect on the NBA legend and icon’s life with the help of someone who knew him personally. Eric Green grew up right outside of Philadelphia in Ardmore, PA, the same neighborhood as Kobe, and attended Lower Merion high school where he also played basketball. Eric talked about how he considered Kobe a mentor, and told some great stories about how the five-time NBA champion was always supportive of his alma mater and was always personable towards everyone he encountered. We want to send our prayers and deepest condolences to all of the families affected by this horrific accident, and encourage our listeners to donate to the MambaOnThree Fund to help support them. To donate, please go to MambaOnThree.org.

For tips on how to deal with the hectic-ness of social media after a celebrity’s death, check out this article from last year in which I spoke with a therapist who gave advice on how to cope with your timelines while the world grieves.
